Greensburg diocese high schoolers can get college credit
Thursday, August 28, 2008

Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt today announced a college-in-high-school program linking the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg's two high schools, Greensburg Central and Geibel in Connellsville, with Catholic-affiliated Seton Hill University in Greensburg, St. Vincent College in Unity and Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Cambria County.

The agreement provides juniors and seniors at these high schools the opportunity to earn college credits at substantially lower tuition rates.

"These articulation agreements with our local Catholic post-secondary institutions will give our Catholic high school students the potential to graduate from our high schools and enter their college studies at the level of sophomore status," said Trent D. Bocan, superintendent of Catholic schools for the diocese.

Last spring, parents of students at both high schools were informed of classes that would most likely be offered this school year as part of the agreement.
