Q: Aaron Maybin has been a surprise for Penn State's defense. Did you expect this kind of performance from him?

MUSSELMAN: Maybin has seven sacks in six games from his defensive end spot, a team high. He is on pace to have a better statistical season than end Maurice Evans, who finished third in the Big Ten last season with 12 1/2 sacks. Maybin is not only a good pass rusher, he has improved on skills against the run. He is bigger and stronger than he was last season at this time. His knowledge of the game is a lot more thorough as well.
