A woman who was killed Saturday night in a collision that injured another woman has been identified as Janice L. Massimino, 66, of Latrobe, the Westmoreland County coroner's office said.

Ms. Massimino had been a passenger in a vehicle driven by another woman as they traveled east on Route 130 in Cook at about 6 p.m.

Investigators said the driver of the car failed to stop at a sign at the intersection of Route 711, and their car was struck by northbound vehicle driven by Matthew Carter, 35, of Verona.

The two vehicles then crashed into a house along the roadway.

Ms. Massimino was flown by helicopter Excela Health Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant, where she was pronounced dead at 6:49 p.m. The cause of death was trauma of the head and chest, said Deputy Coroner Timothy O'Donnell.

The female driver of that car, who has not identified, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian with serious injuries. Her condition was not known.

Mr. Carter and three children -- ages 3, 9 and 11 -- in his car were not injured, police said.
