Sojourner House MOMS will dedicate a new play space in a public ceremony at its East Liberty home at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Sojourner House is a residential rehabilitation facility for addicted mothers and their children.
The MOMS Green now occupies what was once two city-owned vacant lots at 5525-5529 Black St.
Joann Cyganovich, Sojourner House's executive director, said 150 volunteers cleared the lots of debris and created a winding stone path from pieces of buildings that once occupied those lots.
MOMS stands for Motivation, Opportunities, Mentoring, & Spirituality. It is a partnership of Sojourner House, East Liberty Development Inc. and the Negley Place Neighborhood Alliance. For more information, call 412-361-1213, email jcrawford@sojournerhousepa.org, or visit www.sojournerhousepa.org.
