The Association of Pittsburgh Priests is sponsoring a series of lectures starting today in McCandless.
The Rev. Gene Lauer will speak at 7:30 tonight on the topic "Christ Our Teacher: An Experiential Understanding." Father Lauer is a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. He formerly served as the director of the Hesburgh Renewal Center at the University of Notre Dame for 17 years. He also served as the director of the National Pastoral Life Center in New York City for three years. He has taught extensively at local colleges and universities.
Sister Lora Dambroski, a sister of St. Francis of the Providence of God, will speak on Oct. 6 on "Apostolic Visitation of American Women Religious: Visitation or Investigation?"
John L. Allen Jr., senior correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter and senior Vatican analyst for CNN, will speak Nov. 3 on "The Future Church: Will the Central Teachings of Vatican II Endure?"
The talks will be held at the Kearns Spirituality Center beside LaRoche College and behind the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Divine Providence. All start at 7:30 p.m. A donation of $15 is suggested for each evening or $40 for those registering for all three presentations.
