Courthouse worker charged with spying on women
Thursday, September 09, 2010

Beaver County authorities have charged a maintenance worker with using a peephole in a courthouse restroom to spy on women.

Daniel B. Caul, 36, of Ambridge, was charged Wednesday with 20 counts of invasion of privacy.

Sheriff George David says the hole was drilled near a vent in a unisex bathroom near the adult probation office in the county courthouse. Police and prosecutors allege that Mr. Caul acknowledged looking through the peephole but denied having made it.

Commissioners Chairman Tony Amadio said the 17-year county employee was fired immediately.

A telephone number listed in Mr. Caul's name rang unanswered Wednesday and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
